This garden was our first display at the 2006 Northwest Flower and Garden Show. Three paths all led to the same place – a sunken patio retreat with a spiral inset in the stonework – a labyrinth for us to reflect. With backdrop full of native plants, there were also splashes of color and texture from ornamental plants complimentary to our climate. Other elements included a custom stained glass gate, a babbling stone and life growing from within a decaying stump which was to remind us how our time here is fragile, from birth to death, the circle of life continues. It was awarded a gold medal. Most of these photos are courtesy of Scott Engelhardt.
