This garden was created to emphasize the importance of looking ahead to the future of gardening in Seattle and surrounding bioregion of the PNW. It was designed imagining 50 years into the future, with climate change and land access sure to be an ongoing issue. The garden emphasizes plants that are easily adaptable to a changing climate, alternative energy (including multiple solar powered systems) recycled concrete and asphalt, as well as several artistic details – large and small. This garden won several awards including the “People’s Choice” and Fine Gardening Magazine’s award.
